- Captain Bohdan Kukhar (call sign Burya) was killed on August 27, 2022, in a battle with Russian occupiers near the city of Maryinka in Donetsk region. The warrior was 36 years old. Bohdan was born in the village of Horbakiv, Rivne region. He graduated from the Rivne National University of Water Management and Natural Resource Use, where he received a degree in geoinformation systems engineering. He got married, lived with his family in the village of Chudnitsa, Rivne region. He worked as the deputy head of the mechanization department at the limited liability company "SGP named after Volovikov". During the full-scale invasion, the man defended Ukraine in the ranks of the 79th separate airborne assault brigade. He was the commander of the platoon. "I am infinitely grieving for my husband. I cannot come to terms with the fact that he is no longer there. There are only a few people like him in the world. Always cheerful, sociable. Hardworking, who dedicated himself to work completely. He loved nature very much. He planned to do a lot for his daughter. When he went to war, he said: "I'm going to fight for my child's sake. For her peaceful and bright future." And he himself wanted to live very much... He always thought about others more than about himself," his wife Natalia said. "War takes away the best, the most dedicated, those who have a whole life ahead of them. I express my condolences to the relatives and friends, together with you, we bow our heads in mourning. May the good, bright memory of the deceased defender remain forever in the memory of relatives, friends, all who knew, loved and respected him. Eternal memory and glory to the Hero! We will never forgive! We will never forget!" said the Hoshchanska settlement council. The officer was buried in his native village. At home, Bohdan's wife and daughter were waiting for him.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
