Bohdan F. Dykunets

Sergeant Bohdan Dykunets was killed on January 16, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission in the Orikhiv area of Zaporizhzhia region. In two weeks, the defender would have turned 52 years old. Bohdan was born in the village of Zavadyntsi, Khmilnytskyi region. He graduated from the Balyn Vocational School. He worked abroad as a laborer, builder, and electrician. In his free time, he loved to go fishing. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a sapper-scout in the 65th Separate Mechanized Brigade. "I lost the best father in the world!" said the deceased's daughter Marina. "In the terrible days of the war, Bohdan voluntarily joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and bravely defended Ukraine. For a long time, together with his comrades-in-arms, he held the defense of Orikhiv. A heavy and painful loss for his relatives, loved ones, and all of us. We express our condolences to the family of our hero. Rest in peace, our Hero! Eternal memory," the city council wrote. The serviceman was buried in his native village. At home, Bohdan was awaited by his wife and two children.
