Bohdan M. Fomin

Soldier Bogdan Fomin was killed on August 19, 2022, near the village of Kodema in Donetsk region from a direct hit of an enemy shell. Bogdan was born in the village of Makarivka, Donetsk region. He graduated from Staromaiorska comprehensive school. Then he entered the Velykoanadol forest technical vocational college. In 2019, Bogdan decided to link his life with the army and went to serve in the reconnaissance battalion, taking the position of a BMP driver-mechanic. He performed combat missions in the area of the Joint Forces Operation. When the full-scale invasion of the Russian army into Ukraine began, Bogdan again voluntarily came to the Volnovakha military commissariat. He served there for 2 months. Later, he decided to transfer to a combat unit - to the 24th separate assault battalion "Aidar" of the 53rd separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Vladimir Monomakh. He got into the artillery service. The defender was buried in the village of Shyshaky, Poltava region. It was there that his parents, who were waiting for the return of their only son, were evacuated. "In this war, there is no foreign pain for Ukrainians. Every loss, wherever the defender was born or lived, is our common loss. Our common pain," noted in the Shyshatska community.
