- Paratrooper Bohdan Kardashevskyi (call sign Kardan) was killed on July 27, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the city of Kurakhove in the Donetsk region. The defender was 27 years old. Bohdan was born in the city of Novomoskovsk, Dnipropetrovsk region. He graduated from the Novomoskovsk vocational school, obtaining the profession of a gas and electric welder. He dreamed of becoming a dog handler, as he loved animals very much. He worked as a storekeeper and shift supervisor in a company that produces plastic windows. He planned to get married and start a happy family after the end of the war. During the full-scale invasion, the man joined the ranks of the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to fight for his homeland. He served in the 79th separate airborne assault brigade. He held the position of senior reconnaissance grenadier. "Bodya was a very sincere and sensitive person. He had a lot of plans for life, first this damned war postponed these plans, and then it took away the opportunity to realize them... He was very cheerful, always smiling, loved to joke. Even being at war, he said that everything was fine, so that we would not worry. Rest in peace, my dear. I will never forget you. Forever in my heart. Forever in the ranks," wrote the deceased's girlfriend Lidiya. "Such friends are given only once in a lifetime. A friend with a steel character. Bohdan never stood aside from problems, nor did he remain on the sidelines when the damned Russia attacked our country. It is worth looking for a kinder and better person. Forever in the ranks, friend," added his friend Yevhen. The warrior was buried in his hometown. Bohdan is survived by his mother, brother, sister, girlfriend, and other relatives and friends.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
