Bohdan O. Kozachok

Territorial Defense Fighter Bogdan Kozachok was killed on his 25th birthday, August 10, 2022, defending the Donetsk region from Russian occupiers. Bogdan was born and lived in the village of Bilokurakine, Luhansk region. He stu military psychology in Luhansk, but due to the occupation of the city, he was unable to complete his studies. In 2015, he decided to join the military, and after demobilization, he went abroad to work. He then returned to Ukraine and worked in Odessa for a while before returning to his native village. He lived with his beloved girlfriend Yulia and her two children from a previous marriage. When the full-scale war began, Bogdan received his military uniform on the first day and enlisted in the territorial defense. He was always in touch with his loved one. When he was sent on a mission, he told Yulia: "I'm going where there will be no connection, but know that you are my only and most beloved family. I will always be with you. No one has been born yet who can kill me." In the spring, while performing a combat mission near Orihiv in the Donetsk region, Bogdan received a gunshot wound and a concussion. When he was in the hospital, he proposed to Yulia, and she agreed. The lovers planned to get married in the summer of 2023. Bogdan dreamed of a grand wedding and gathering all his relatives together. After treatment and a short leave, the man returned to the war. On the evening of August 9, they talked to their loved one on the phone, making plans. Bogdan asked to pierce his daughter's ears, but said he would come and buy earrings for her himself. He promised to come to them soon. However, the next day he no longer responded.
