- 23-year-old Sergeant Major Bohdan Morhun (call sign Morgan) was killed on June 1, 2024 near the village of Bochkove in the Kharkiv region. The warrior received fatal injuries as a result of detonating an enemy mine. Bohdan was born in the village of Hladkovychi in the Zhytomyr region. After finishing school, he received his education at the Kyiv Vocational College of Railway Transport named after V.S. Kudriashov. After completing his studies, he signed a contract with the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. He served in the rapid response border detachment of the 9th Border Guard Brigade named after the Sich Riflemen. With the start of the full-scale war, he took part in battles near Pershotravneve in the Kharkiv region, as well as near Novomykhailivka and Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. For his service, the soldier received the medals "For Courage in Protecting the State", "War Veteran", and "Defender of the Fatherland". "Bohdan was a kind, sincere, and the soul of the company. Cheerful, always ready to help. Forever in our memory!" - wrote his classmate and friend Maria Lapatyuk. The defender was buried in his native village. Bohdan is survived by his parents, brother, sister, relatives, and friends. On August 29, 2024, a memorial plaque in his honor was installed on the facade of the school where Bohdan studied.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
