Bohdan O. Zinchenko

Zinchenko Bohdan Oleksandrovych, private, gunner of the 72nd armored brigade. Born on October 7, 1977, in the town of Bilolutsk, Novopskivskyi district, Luhansk region. Later moved with his mother to the city of Starobilsk. He was the only son, raised by his mother alone. After the 9th grade, he entered a vocational school, where he obtained a specialty as an electrician and driver. After graduating from the school, he went to work at a design bureau. On December 18, 1995, he was drafted into the ranks of the Ukrainian army for compulsory service, which he completed in the city of Nikopol, where he was a driver. After demobilization, he returned home to the city of Starobilsk. He worked, had golden hands, and was a helper to his mother, repairing the house. In 2000, he got married. He bought his own house in the village of Shulhynka, Starobilsk district. He worked at a poultry farm in the Novoaidar district and was building plans for the future. He was a very positive, kind person, the life of the party, and played the guitar very well." On January 29, 2015, Bohdan received a mobilization summons and was called up to the ranks of the Ukrainian army. He said he would go to defend his land and would not hide from difficulties. After completing training in the training unit, on March 6, 2015, he was sent to the town of Volnovakha, Donetsk region, where he served as a gunner in the 72nd armored brigade. The soldier's life was cut short on June 14, 2015. He died in the Volnovakha Central District Hospital. Combat friends who brought the coffin with his body said that Bohdan was a good comrade and helped everyone, and they also said that a guitar should be painted on his monument, which in Bohdan's hands lifted the spirits of the soldiers. Zinchenko Bohdan Oleksandrovych is buried in the cemetery of the village of Chmyrivka, Starobilsk district, Luhansk region.
