Biography
Bohdan Petrovych Kalahurskyi was born on April 17, 1978 in the village of Obroshyne, Lviv region. He studied at the Obroshyne secondary school. He graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Power Engineering of the Lviv Polytechnic, specializing in "Electrical Power Supply Systems". Since 2001, he worked at Lvivoblenergo. He went from an electrician to the deputy head of the occupational safety service and the chief engineer of the Central REM. In 2015-2016, he participated in combat operations in eastern Ukraine as part of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade. After the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was the commander of the 1st Mechanized Company of the 106th Mechanized Battalion of the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade. He was killed on August 19, 2022 as a result of enemy artillery shelling during the defense of the village of Blahodatne in the Mykolaiv region. Due to intense fighting, his comrades were unable to evacuate Captain Bohdan Kalahurskyi's body from the battlefield. Only on November 10, 2022, after the liberation of Blahodatne, was this possible. At the end of January 2023, according to the results of DNA testing, the death of the hero was confirmed. He was buried in his native village. He is survived by his parents, wife and two daughters.Burial place
