Bohdan S. Korniichuk

Bohdan Serhiyovych Korniychuk was born on May 14, 1999, in the village of Morochne, Varash district, Rivne region. From 2014 to 2016, he studied at the Ivan Bohun Kyiv Military Lyceum, and in 2020, he graduated from the Hetman Petro Sahaidachny National Academy of Ground Forces, Faculty of Moral and Psychological Support. He was a candidate for master of sports and was engaged in swimming, wrestling, and military triathlon. On June 21, 2020, he was assigned to continue his military service with the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade. He held the position of Deputy Commander for Moral and Psychological Support of the 3rd Tank Company of the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade. He was killed in action on March 6, 2022, during a battle in the city of Sievierodonetsk, Luhansk region. For personal courage and heroism displayed in defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as loyalty to the military oath, Bohdan Serhiyovych Korniychuk was posthumously awarded the title of "Hero of Ukraine" with the Order of the Golden Star.
