- Guardsman Bohdan Strelnikov was killed on August 16, 2023, during the assault on the forest strip and positions near the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. The soldier was 21 years old. Bohdan was born in the village of Palanka, Cherkasy region. When he was a year old, he became an orphan. The boy was taken in by his grandmother, who raised him. Since then, he was a resident of the city of Bershad, Vinnytsia region. He graduated from Bershad Secondary School of I-III degrees No. 2. Then he studied to become a paramedic at the Vinnytsia Medical College named after Academician Zabolotny. In 2021, the young man decided to join the army. He enlisted in the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine. He served in military unit 3027, and later was transferred to military unit 3008, with which he signed a contract for military service. With the words "Grandma, who if not me?" on November 1, 2021, he went to the Joint Forces Operation zone, to the city of Kurakhove, Donetsk region. He was awarded the "Participant of the Anti-Terrorist Operation" badge. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Bohdan took part in the fighting in the Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions. Later, he was sent to the city of Bakhmut, Donetsk region. He was wounded, but did not leave his comrades and continued to serve in the 14th Assault Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine "Chervona Kalyna". He was a senior gunner and always bravely went into battle. Bohdan's grandmother Valentyna Ivanivna wrote: "At such a young age, Bohdan fought the invaders for two years. Until his last breath, he was faithful to his oath and his Homeland. He always wanted to be a military man and dreamed of entering a military academy. Bohdan is an example of true patriotism and a Hero of Ukraine. After all, being an orphan, he did not hesitate to go and defend his country." The Bershad City Council added: "Bohdan was a very sociable and friendly young man. He not only served in the army, but also tried to raise funds to improve the material support of his unit... The young, courageous warrior, defender Bohdan Strelnikov gave the most valuable - his own life, for peace, for a free future, for independence, for each of us, for Ukraine! His loss is a heavy blow for the family, friends, loved ones and the entire community. May his example inspire us to actions aimed at peace and security." The young warrior was buried in the city of Bershad. Bohdan is survived by his grandmother, brother, close ones, friends and comrades.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
