- Soldier Bohdan Vereshchynskyi (call sign Smurf) was killed on January 6, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Berestove in the Donetsk region. The warrior was 24 years old. Bohdan was born in Kyiv. He lived in the village of Savarka, Kyiv region. He obtained the profession of computer typist and cook at the Bohuslav Vocational and Technical Education Center. He then enrolled at the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts. He wanted to become a cook, but changed his mind. He dreamed of a military career. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man fought against the occupiers as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a serviceman of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade. He took part in the fiercest battles, in particular near Bakhmut and Soledar. "Fate did not spare Bohdan from an early age. He spent his childhood in Moskalenko, and later in an orphanage. In 2012, he became the son of the adoptive Artemenko family from the village of Savarka... Bohdan always stood out for his clear patriotic position. So in the summer of 2022, he signed a contract, defending the country near Bakhmut... He was full of plans for the future. On December 27, 2022, he managed to get married..." the Bohuslav City Council noted. "I'm infinitely sad about him. I believe that we will definitely meet there, somewhere beyond the horizon. There are few people like my husband. We had many plans. He wanted to live, but the war takes the best," wrote the widow of the fallen, Victoria. The defender was buried on the Alley of Heroes in the city of Bohuslav, Kyiv region. Bohdan is survived by his adoptive family and his wife, who was pregnant at the time of his death.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
