Bohdan V. Holub

Soldier Bohdan Holub was killed on May 15, 2022, in a battle with Russian saboteurs near the village of Druzhba in the Popasna district of Luhansk region. The defender was 52 years old. Bohdan Holub was born and lived in Lviv. He graduated from Lutsk National Technical University with a degree in "Machine Engineering Technology." He held positions as an engineer and operator-adjuster at the Arterium Corporation, Lviv Brewery, and Enzym Company. He loved life, the sun, traveling, hiking, and cars. On the first day of the full-scale invasion, he voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was assigned to the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Daniel. He served as a rangefinder operator in the battery management department of the anti-tank guided missile artillery division. As part of his unit, he defended Luhansk region. "Bohdan was a very kind, bright, positive, and selfless person. He never refused anyone who asked him for help. He was very hardworking and responsible. He had golden hands and could do almost anything: from repairing in the apartment, fixing household appliances and cars, to cooking simple dishes. He was a reliable support and protection for his family, whom he loved very much. Eternal memory to you, our angel, and eternal glory! You will always be with us in our memory," wrote the wife of the fallen soldier, Natalia. Bohdan was buried at the Mars Field of Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv. At home, his parents, wife, and daughter were waiting for the defender. Posthumously, he was awarded the Order of "For Courage" of the III degree.
