Bohdan V. Lenda

Serviceman Bohdan Lenda was killed on October 12, 2023 near the village of Vodiane in the Donetsk region. He was considered missing for some time. Only in May 2024 did his mother receive a notification about the death of her son. The fighter did not live to see his 26th birthday by a few days. Bohdan was born in the city of Synelnykove, Dnipropetrovsk region. He grew up and studied at school No. 7 there. Since 2016, he has been working on the railway, being an inspector-repairman of cars in the operational car depot Nizhnedneprovsky-Uzel of the regional branch "Prydniprovska Railway". In the future, he dreamed of starting his own business and planned to get married, but did not have time. In March 2022, he went to the military enlistment office. He became a rifleman-operator of a mechanized battalion. During his service, Bohdan was wounded twice. A colleague of the railway worker, the senior inspector-repairman of cars of the Nizhnedneprovsky-Uzel car depot, Serhii Koruma, recalls: "Bohdan was an honest person with a keen sense of justice, always had his own opinion and knew how to argue it. He grasped knowledge on the fly and was distinguished by a high level of professional training. He was responsible for his work, easily found a common language with colleagues, and never refused to help anyone." "Energetic, determined, Bohdan was an example for his comrades-in-arms. Our countryman had a brave heart and a strong character. He was confident in his own strength, loved life, his loved ones, and dreamed of a large family of his own," added the mayor of Synelnykove, Dmytro Zrazhevskyi. "Bohdan was very kind and sensitive, he readily responded to any requests. He became a railway worker following in the footsteps of his older brother Oleksii. He loved to cook his own lunch at work and treat us. He was especially good at making buckwheat merchant-style and macaroni with chicken fillet, carrots and onions - a real delicacy. And Bohdan was always like that - if he decided something, it was in vain to refuse, he would still do it his own way," said his mother, Tetiana Volodymyrivna. Bohdan's sister Marharyta is very saddened by his loss. She recalls that he often helped her and her brother Kyrylo with their homework, took them for walks to the Dnipro River, and was very kind and loving. The defender left behind a mother, an older brother with a family, and younger brother and sister.
