Bohdan V. Petrenko (Hvozd)

Soldier Bohdan Petrenko (call sign Nail) was killed on January 24, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission in the area of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. The fighter was 31 years old. Bohdan was from the village of Balakliia in the Cherkasy region. He received a secondary education. He then graduated from the Faculty of Advertising and Design at the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design. He worked as a loader at the "Mercury" enterprise. He was fond of drawing. During the full-scale Russian invasion, on March 4, 2022, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He became a fighter of the 110th separate mechanized brigade. He held the position of a machine gunner squad member. "Bohdan was a very good person, he was always interested in helping his comrades-in-arms," said Dyana, the wife of the deceased's brother. The defender was buried in his native village. Bohdan is survived by his parents, brother, other relatives, and friends.
