- Soldier Daniil Gerliani (call sign Himalayas) was killed on June 3, 2022, during an enemy artillery shelling near the village of Temerivka, Zaporizhzhia region. On June 20, the warrior would have turned 24 years old. Daniil was born and lived in Kiev. He graduated from the Institute of Prosecution and Criminal Justice of the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University in Kharkiv. He worked as a lawyer at the law firm Zbigley and Partners. In his free time, he was engaged in Greco-Roman wrestling and was a candidate for master of sports in freestyle wrestling. He was fond of literature and mountain tourism. He was an ardent football fan and a fan of FC Dynamo Kiev. With the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the young man joined the 2nd battalion of the Azov SSO regiment, which later became the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "Daniil always sought new knowledge and self-improvement. He was known as a good, kind, sensitive, honest and authoritative person. That's how he will remain in our memory - a fearless defender, a true patriot of his country. Most of all in life Daniil loved his parents and Ukraine. Himalayas was a real fighter, and this is not only about the kind of sport. People like him can be trusted, people like him are writing the history of Ukraine with their courage, honor and sacrifice today... Heroes of Ukraine do not die, they remain forever the heavenly defenders of our Fatherland. Daniil Gerliani has forever inscribed his name in the history of our state. The bright memory of him will forever remain in our hearts," the university, which the warrior graduated from, stated. The defender was buried at the Lisovoye cemetery in his native Kiev. Daniil is survived by his father Gela, mother Alla and brother Georgy. Posthumously, soldier Daniil Gerliani was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
