- Danyil Volodymyrovych Zhyrnov was born on December 29, 2002, in the city of Konotop, Sumy region. During his military service, Senior Soldier Danyil Zhyrnov proved himself to be loyal to the Ukrainian people, military, and constitutional duty. He was determined, energetic, and a professionally trained serviceman. Since July 2, 2023, Senior Soldier Danyil Zhyrnov, as part of the combined detachment "Chop-2," honorably and with dignity fulfilled his military duty in the zone of active hostilities in the Donetsk region. On July 19, 2023, during the execution of a combat mission, as a result of successful assault actions, the enemy was driven from the fire position "Basin." The enemy fired from multiple launch rocket systems, large-caliber artillery, mortars, and automatic grenade launchers. Senior Soldier Danyil Zhyrnov inflicted fire damage on the enemy's manpower and covered his comrades. During the assault, moving to the enemy's concentration area and preventing them from retreating, he secured the occupied position and held it for two days. Despite significant losses and constant artillery shelling, the serviceman ensured the retention of positions, took on the role of a medic, and provided first aid to wounded comrades. On August 6, 2023, during a mortar shelling of the fire position "Bulbik" in the area of the village of Kurdyumivka in the Donetsk region, Senior Soldier Danyil Zhyrnov was wounded and died at his combat post. For personal courage and selfless actions demonstrated in defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, for loyalty to military oath, Senior Soldier Danyil Volodymyrovych Zhyrnov was awarded the Order of "For Courage" III degree (posthumously).Memory Book of the MIA System
