- 21-year-old junior sergeant Danylo Kalinich (call sign Hans) died on February 25, 2023 in the hospital in Uzhhorod from severe injuries sustained while defending Ukraine. On October 26, 2022 in Luhansk region, the soldier on the APC was blown up by an enemy anti-tank mine. He was operated on and treated in several hospitals. However, the warrior's heart stopped. Danylo was born in Sievierodonetsk, Luhansk region. He obtained the profession of an electric gas welder at the local vocational school No. 24. But he always dreamed of serving in the airborne assault troops, so after graduating in 2020, he went to serve under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In his free time, he was passionate about boxing. When the full-scale Russian invasion began, Danylo served in the 90th separate airmobile battalion named after the Hero of Ukraine Senior Lieutenant Ivan Zubkov as part of the 81st Airmobile Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He took part in the defense of the Kharkiv region. He was concussed several times, but each time he returned to the front line. And already in the Luhansk region, the young fighter accepted the last battle. After several complex operations in Dnipro and Kyiv, he was transferred to the hospital in Uzhhorod. Danylo had big plans for the future. He dreamed of recovering and returning to his comrades-in-arms as soon as possible. But it was not to be. "We dreamed of getting married when his treatment was over. We had so many plans for the future..." said the deceased's fiancée Lilia. The young paratrooper was buried at the Krasnopilskyi cemetery in Dnipro. Danylo is survived by his parents and fiancée.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
