Danylo M. Menshykov

Sergeant Danilo Menshikov was killed on September 22, 2023 near the village of Chervona Krynytsia in the Zaporizhia region. During the enemy artillery shelling, he covered his comrades and received fatal wounds. A month earlier, on August 16, the warrior turned 21 years old. Danilo was from the city of Druzhkivka in the Donetsk region. He studied at the Donbas Agrarian College of the Luhansk National Agrarian University, specializing in Agroengineering. He loved sports, playing football, volleyball, and basketball. In the first days of the full-scale war, on February 26, 2022, the young man joined the ranks of the defenders of Ukraine and went to the front. Initially, he served in the 81st Separate Airmobile Brigade. He defended the hot spots of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. After being wounded and a long treatment, he was transferred to the 33rd Separate Engineering Battalion of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As part of this unit, he went to the Zaporizhia direction. "Danilo was the best person in the world, he was courageous, brave, and always knew how to find positivity in any situation. Without fear of giving his life, he defended our country. Despite his young age, Danilo was a very wise person," said his friend Olga Bolotova. The paratrooper was buried in his hometown. He left behind a loving family, friends, and comrades.
