Danylo S. Kofanov (Kefir)

Junior Sergeant Danilo Kofanov (call sign Kefir) was killed in action on June 28, 2022, near the village of Dementiivka in Kharkiv region. During the execution of a combat mission, he came under enemy artillery fire and received fatal injuries. The defender was 21 years old forever. Danilo Kofanov was born in the village of Odnorobivka, Kharkiv region. After finishing school, he entered the Kharkiv State Automobile and Road College. He stu in the specialty "Construction and Civil Engineering". He was active, friendly, had many friends. In 2020, the guy was drafted into the National Guard of Ukraine for a fixed-term military service. He served in the 3rd Brigade of Operational Assignment (military unit 3017). After a year, he signed a contract and participated in the JFO. In March 2022, he took the position of senior scout of the reconnaissance platoon of the special purpose reconnaissance company. Together with his comrades, he continued to defend his country from Russian occupiers. "Danilo was devoted to his military oath, bravely participated in battles for Ukraine, its freedom and independence. He was respected by comrades, valued for reliability and courage. He always followed the example of his commander Sergey Barsukov, with whom he went on a very difficult combat mission, with whom he in the last battle. Danya was a kind, sincere person, the best son in the world, a loving brother, a caring grandson, a faithful and devoted friend, a true warrior and a brave defender of his native land. He dreamed of a happy future, of creating his own family, of Ukraine without an enemy. Approaching victory, he gave the most valuable thing - his young life for each of us, for Ukraine, for its will. He will be forever in our hearts," his mother Olena Mykolayivna said. The young warrior was buried in his native village. Danilo left behind his mother, younger sister, grandmother, grandfather, aunt and cousin. Posthumously, the guardsman was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the III degree and the medal "Defender of Zolochivshchyna".
