Davyd I. Stoianov (Chikaho)

Sergeant Major David Stoianov (call sign Chicago) died on November 16, 2023 near the village of Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhia region. The defender was 24 years old. David was born in Yuzhnoukrainsk, Mykolaiv region. He studied at the Kryvyi Rih Professional College of the National Aviation University. He was interested in programming and equipment repair. He studied English. He also had a music education and played the flute. Since 2019, he became a military man, signing a contract. He served in military unit 3044 of the National Guard of Ukraine. He held the rank of Sergeant Major. With the start of the full-scale invasion, he mastered the profession of a sapper. "Until his last breath, he did not panic. When he was already seriously wounded and understood that these were his last minutes of life, he recorded a video. In it, he confessed his love to his girlfriend..." - said his mother Lilia Stoianova. The warrior was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Yuzhnoukrainsk city cemetery. David is survived by his parents, three sisters, an older brother, and a beloved girlfriend.
