Denys A. Kofel (Diurasel)

Kofil Denis Anatoliyovych was born on September 20, 2001 in Uzhhorod, Zakarpattia. He studied at Uzhhorod Secondary School No. 6, after the 9th grade he entered the Zakarpattia Lyceum-Boarding School with enhanced military and physical training, and then studied at the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny (Lviv). He began military service under contract in the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From the first day of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he was in the hottest spots. He was a senior rifleman of the 2nd airborne assault platoon, 2nd airborne assault company, 2nd airborne assault battalion, 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. For participation in the battles for Bucha, he was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree. He died on May 24, 2022 in the village of Berestove, Bakhmut district, Donetsk region. The farewell ceremony for Denis Kofil took place on May 30, 2022 on Narodna Square in Uzhhorod. The hero was buried on the Hill of Glory.
