- Senior Soldier Denys Komar (call sign Frank) was killed on March 23, 2022, during the defense of Mariupol in Donetsk region. During the battle with the occupiers, the life of the 25-year-old warrior was cut short by a bullet from an enemy sniper. Denys was born in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region. He stu at local school No. 128. From childhood, he was interested in military affairs, and graduated from the Kryvyi Rih School of Hand-to-Hand Combat at the S.V.A. "Shchyt Batkivshchyny". There, he was awarded the rank of instructor in hand-to-hand combat and instructor in the use of TSB and cold weapons. In 2016, the young man joined the ranks of the D.U.K. "Right Sector". Later, he transferred to the Azov regiment. At the time of the full-scale war, Denys was an assistant grenade launcher in the separate special purpose unit of the NGU "Azov". From the first days of the invasion, together with his comrades, he defended Mariupol from the occupiers. "My brother was the support of our family, the defender not only of us, but of the whole country. I am very proud of him, as are we all. We had many common interests. I regret it, I don't want to let him go. He was very good, everyone loved him, he was the soul of the company. Denys served his homeland for six years, was a true patriot and loved his country. My brother is a Hero, like all those who gave their lives for Ukraine. Words cannot convey the pain of all the people who knew him," said Denys' younger brother, Danilo. In July 2022, the warrior was buried in his hometown. Denys is survived by his mother, brother, three sisters, two nephews, four nieces, relatives and friends. Posthumously, Senior Soldier Denys Komar was awarded the Order of "Courage" III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
