Denys A. Sushytskyi

Lieutenant of Police Denys Sushytskyi (call sign Sushyk) died on October 12, 2023 near the settlement of Kurdiumivka in the Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, he came under enemy fire and received fatal injuries. The defender is now forever 27 years old. Denys was born in the village of Shakhvorostivka, Zhytomyr region. He studied law at the Novohrad-Volynsky College. He worked as a district police officer in the Korostyshiv police department. In his free time, he was engaged in sports. During his studies at the college, he repeatedly participated in weightlifting and powerlifting competitions, where he received awards, and also earned the title of Candidate Master of Sports. During the full-scale war, the man continued to perform his official duties. Later, he joined the ranks of the united assault brigade "Fury". He held the position of squad inspector in the assault regiment "Safari". "Denys was a very cheerful and cheerful person, he always radiated kindness. He was very purposeful, the best son for his parents, a wonderful brother and a faithful friend. He had a very great love for the Motherland," said his younger sister Maria. Denys was buried in the Alley of Glory of the cemetery in Korostyshiv. The warrior left behind his parents and three sisters. The police officer was posthumously awarded the medal "Defender of the Fatherland".
