Denys H. Metiolkin (Sievier)

Soldier Denis Metiolkin (call sign Sever) was killed on November 11, 2022 near the village of Pavlivka in the Donetsk region. The warrior was 39 years old. Denis was born in Severodonetsk, Luhansk region. He stuwas killed at the local humanities and aesthetic gymnasium. In 2001, he graduated from vocational school No. 92 and obtained the profession of a cook. He worked in the construction industry in his hometown. He was passionate about fishing and gardening. In 2015-2016, Denis participated in the ATO in Donbas as part of the 24th separate mechanized brigade, he was a driver-mechanic of the BMP. He was awarded the brigade's "Iron Warrior" distinction and the ATO participant medal. After demobilization, he returned to peaceful life and his job. In the first days of the full-scale war, he evacuated his family to Lviv, got a job as a postman there and was later drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He defended Ukraine as part of the 68th separate Oleksa Dovbush Rifles Brigade. He was a senior rifleman and commander of the "International MaxxPro" combat vehicle. "Denis was the best son and brother. Kind and sincere, he always trusted people very much. He loved his family and Ukraine, so he gave his life for us. It is difficult to understand that Denis is no longer with us. We will always love and remember you!" - said the brother of the deceased Serhii. The hero was buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv. Denis is survived by his mother, brother and sister.
