Denys M. Chepizhnyi

29-year-old fighter Denis Chepizhny was killed on May 27, 2022, during an enemy artillery shelling in the area of the village of Shcherbaky, Zaporizhzhia region. The defender received multiple fragmentation wounds, reported the shelling and tried to provide first aid to himself. But they did not have time to take him to the hospital. Denis was born and lived in the city of Sumy. In 2015, he graduated from Sumy State University, received a master's degree in business economics. In peacetime, he worked in the IT field. He loved to travel very much. He visited more than 20 countries. During the full-scale war, the man was engaged in anti-aircraft defense measures in the ranks of the 128th separate mountain assault Zakarpattia brigade, held the position of radio telephonist-planist. "I found out that Denis was on the front line only after his death. He didn't say, because he didn't want me to worry. It's unbearably painful without him. He was an incredible person, the best husband and father. He devoted all his free time to his son. He so dreamed of hearing Mark speak, but didn't have time. He did everything for the sake of the family, so that we would be happy. And we were truly happy. We had so many plans and dreams for the future...", said the defender's wife Irina. Denis' ashes were buried on the Alley of Glory in his hometown. The hero left behind his mother, wife, and son.
