Denys M. Dub

Senior soldier Denys Dub was killed on July 22, 2022 while carrying out a combat mission near the Vuhleghirska TPP, near the city of Svitlodarsk in Donetsk region. The defender was forever 24 years old. Denys was from the village of Sloboda-Sholomkivska in Zhytomyr region. He graduated from the Faculty of Physical Education of Ivan Franko Zhytomyr State University. He worked as a football coach at the Ovruch Children and Youth Sports School. During the full-scale war, he defended the country in the ranks of the 5th separate assault brigade. He was a senior rifleman of the 2nd assault squad of the 3rd assault platoon of the 3rd assault company of the 1st assault battalion. "A loving son, brother, reliable and faithful friend. My happiness, my pride, my dreams and hopes... My burning and unbearable pain..." - said the mother of the fallen. The defender was buried in his native village. Denys left behind his parents and two older brothers. Denys Dub was posthumously awarded the badge "Honorary Citizen of the City of Ovruch". A memorial plaque in honor of the defender was installed on the facade of the Sholomkivskyi Lyceum.
