Denys O. Bondarenko (Yunior)

Bondarenko Denys Oleksandrovych was born in 2003 in the village of Stetskovka, Sumy region. After graduating from the secondary school in his native village, he entered the Institute of Physical Culture of the Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A.S. Makarenko. He was an active participant and organizer of the youth patriotic movement in the Sumy region, in particular, the All-Ukrainian Children and Youth Military-Patriotic Game "Dzhura". With the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he went to defend the city of Mariupol. He died on May 1, 2022, during the defense of Mariupol, while trying to break through to Azovstal. The body of the fallen soldier remained in Mariupol for a long time. On March 8, 2023, in the Sumy Church of the Apostle Andrew the First-Called, soldier Denys Bondarenko was eulogized, and then buried in the Baranivka cemetery.
