Denys O. Mudryk (Mudryk)

Sergeant Major Denys Mudryk was killed on November 30, 2023 while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Mohrytsia in Sumy Oblast. He was forever 40 years old. Denys was born and lived in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. He graduated from the Kryvyi Rih Institute of Kremenchuk University of Economics, Information Technologies and Management. He worked as a driver and also imported cars from abroad. With the start of the full-scale invasion, the man voluntarily joined the ranks of the 129th separate brigade of the territorial defense. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he defended Ukraine in the Kryvyi Rih, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk and Sumy directions. Over 1.5 years, he went from a soldier to a sergeant major of the company. He received six awards and many certificates. He was also nominated for the Order of Courage of the III degree, which he did not have time to receive. "While in the zones of active hostilities, he never complained that it was difficult for him, on the contrary, he tried to support everyone, convincing that everything would be fine. Those who knew him say that people like Denys are extremely rare," said the widow of the fallen Hanna Mudryk. In his free time, the man was interested in cars, motorcycles and sports. "For me, Denys was the best - he took care of me, protected me and said that his love would be with me. He found positivity in any situation, and I probably don't have the sense of humor that he had. I am very grateful to him for being in my life and will forever remain in my heart and memories," added Hanna Mudryk. Denys was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Central Cemetery in Kryvyi Rih. The defender left behind a wife, two children from his first marriage and other relatives.
