Denys V. Artiukhov (Den)

Senior soldier Denys Artiukhov (call sign Den) was killed on April 7, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Pavlivka in the Donetsk region. The fighter was 37 years old. Denys was born in the city of Horlivka in the Donetsk region. Since 2015, he had been living in Sloviansk, Donetsk region. He graduated from Horlivka Higher Vocational School No. 37, where he obtained the profession of electric and gas welder, and an adjuster of welding and gas-plasma cutting equipment. In peaceful life, he loved to meet with friends and go fishing. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Denys defended Ukraine in the ranks of the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh. He carried out combat missions in the Donbas, defending his native lands from the occupiers. "I really want to immortalize the memory of my brother, who remained true to himself and Ukraine until the last battle," said the sister of the fallen Alla. The warrior was buried at the Berkovetske cemetery in Kyiv. Denys is survived by his mother, sister, and niece. Posthumously, Senior Soldier Denys Artiukhov was awarded the medal "For Military Service to Ukraine".
