- Marine Denis Sedov (call sign Den) was killed in action on June 14, 2022, during a battle with Russian occupiers in the Kherson region. The life of the 20-year-old defender was cut short by a shot from an enemy sniper. Denis was a native of the city of Shostka, Sumy region. He graduated from city school No. 5. Then he stu for 4 years at the local medical college. He was a graduate of the Shostka City Youth Tourism Station. He was fond of tourism and sports, particularly boxing and cross-fit. He dreamed of becoming a fitness trainer. But the war made adjustments, so the guy chose the path of a military man. In 2021, he went to contract service in the naval forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He became a fighter of the 36th separate brigade of the marine corps named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Bilynsky. Later, he thought about continuing his military career and planned to join the SBU later - he wanted to serve in the special unit "Alfa". According to close friends, Denis was a sensitive, kind, purposeful person. In difficult situations, he always found a compromise. "I was a volunteer at the beginning of the war and came from America to fight for Ukraine. I joined the 36th brigade, where we met Denis. We fought together in the Kherson region. I remember when we were setting up ambushes for tanks with our Javelin calculation, many were afraid of shelling, but Denis was a real warrior and was always ready to fight under any conditions. He was calm during the battle. I knew that I could always rely on him. On the day of his death, Denis was on the front line and during the movement from the trench to the trench, he received a gunshot wound to both lungs. He a minute later in the arms of his comrade - Sergeant Jackson. The latter said that Denis's last words were: "Sniper, sniper". He lived like a warrior and like a warrior," said the comrade of the deceased. The military was buried in his hometown. Denis left behind relatives, friends, and comrades. Posthumously, sailor Denis Sedov was awarded the Order of Courage III degree. On January 19, 2023, a memorial plaque was opened in Shostka school No. 5 to the hero.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
