Denys V. Sukhoverkho (Khanter)

Sergeant Denys Sukhoverkho (call sign Hunter) was killed on November 24, 2022 near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. The soldier covered the withdrawal of the group and was wounded during a mortar attack. The defender was 23 years old. Denys was born in the Zhytomyr region. He lived in the village of Voropayiv in the Kyiv region. He obtained the profession of a welder at the Kyiv Professional Energy Lyceum. He adored sports, which he had been practicing since his youth. He promoted sports activities among his friends, and then began to train children. He was fascinated by tattoos. Since he was a good artist, he planned to undergo training and become a tattoo master. He loved motorcycles and speed. When the young man was 18 years old, he went on a military service contract to the airborne assault troops unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He participated in the ATO / JFO in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. On the first day of the full-scale war, Denys joined the Azov SSO unit, which later became the 3rd separate assault brigade. He took part in the battles for Bucha and Irpin. Then, together with his comrades-in-arms, he fought in the Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Kharkiv and Donetsk regions. In August 2022, he suffered a concussion. After treatment, he returned to the frontline. "He was the best. Fair. A kind person and a good friend who always came to help and support. He never let us get upset and cry. This is an example for my children and his younger brother," said the deceased's aunt Marina. The warrior was buried in the village of Voropayiv in the Kyiv region. Denys is survived by his mother and younger brother.
