Denys Ye. Drobnyi

Born on March 1, 1984, in the city of Dniprodzerzhynsk (now Kamyanske) in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Graduated from secondary school No. 8 in Dniprodzerzhynsk, then attended a medical college. In 2014, he was mobilized as a volunteer to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a sanitary instructor in the 74th separate reconnaissance battalion of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1035, the urban-type settlement of Cherkaské in the Novomoskovsk district of the Dnipropetrovsk region). From August 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On September 5, 2014, soldier Drobny, as part of a reconnaissance group, was carrying out a combat mission in the area of the city of Marinka in the Donetsk region. During the movement, he triggered a "tripwire" with a mine, causing the explosive device to detonate. Soldier Drobny died while shielding other fighters with his body. On September 9, 2014, he was buried at the Alley of Glory in the Social City cemetery of Dniprodzerzhynsk (now Kamyanske) in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
