Denys Ye. Koza

Born on November 22, 1993, in the village of Chornobayivka, Bilozerka district, Kherson region. In 2008, he graduated from the 9th grade of the sanatorium general education boarding school in the village of Chornobayivka, and in 2010, he graduated from the Zaporizhzhia Regional Lyceum with enhanced military-physical training "Defender." Since 2010, he has been in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 2014, he graduated from the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Ground Forces Academy (Lviv) with a specialty in "Management of artillery unit actions." Since 2014, he served in the 25th Separate Airborne Brigade of the High Mobility Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1126, the urban-type settlement of Hvardiyiske, Novomoskovsk district, Dnipropetrovsk region). Since the summer of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On August 17, 2014, Lieutenant Koza was killed as a result of shelling by Russian-terrorist groups using BM-21 "Grad" multiple rocket launchers against a unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine conducting search-strike operations in the area of the city of Zhdanivka, Donetsk region. On August 22, 2014, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Chornobayivka, Bilozerka district. On February 4, 2015, a memorial plaque was unveiled in the village of Chornobayivka on the facade of the general education school where Denys Koza studied.
