- Denys Yuriyovych Buchminskyi was born on January 12, 1992, in Donetsk. In May 2022, Senior Soldier Denys Buchminskyi joined the ranks of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine through mobilization. On July 4, 2022, after appropriate training, Denys, as part of a border outpost in a combined unit of the border service (type C) of the 24th border guard detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, bravely held combat positions along the state border in the area of responsibility of the 105th border guard detachment in Chernihiv region, despite daily provocative actions and artillery shelling. On October 13, 2022, Denys and his fellow border guards were dispatched to Donetsk region, to the area of the villages of Krasnohorivka, Solodke, and Stepne. There, the serviceman held occupied positions and participated in fire contacts using small arms. While on a combat position near the village of Stepne, under intense enemy artillery fire, Senior Soldier Denys Buchminskyi, as part of the 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade, fearlessly defended the occupied frontiers. On October 29, 2022, the enemy, supported by artillery, began offensive actions on the positions of Ukrainian defenders and attempted to storm the position of the platoon strongpoint-43. During this battle, Senior Soldier Denys Buchminskyi went missing. On November 2, 2022, Ukrainian defenders found the body of the border guard who, at the cost of his own life, carried out a combat order. For personal bravery and selfless actions demonstrated in defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and fidelity to military oath, Senior Soldier Denys Yuriyovych Buchminskyi was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Book of the MIA System
