Dmytro A. Ostapchuk (Mukha)

24-year-old Senior Soldier Dmytro Ostapchuk (call sign Mukha) was killed on July 27, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. An enemy drone attacked the vehicle in which the soldier was traveling. The injuries were fatal. Dmytro was born in the village of Hordiyivka, Vinnytsia region. He studied at the local school. Then he received vocational education at Tulchyn Vocational School No. 41. He served in the military. In civilian life, he worked at the Ptakhokompleks branch of Vinnytska Ptakhofabryka LLC. He was passionate about football. In the first days of the full-scale war, the man joined the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine and went to defend his homeland. He fought as part of the 14th Operational Purpose Brigade. He was a machine gunner in the machine gun platoon. "He was a patriot and a warrior. A man who was not lacking in courage and bravery. A true, sincere and reliable person. Rest in peace, dear friend, your memory will be eternal... Thank you for everything..." - wrote his close friends Mykola and Yulia Zhmud, Dmytro Prokopenko, Andrii Pukai. "Honest, sociable, cheerful, always able to support in a difficult situation. This is how Dmytro will remain in the memory of those who knew and loved him," added the Trostyanets community. "Dima was my friend since childhood. He was a brave, cheerful and kind guy who easily found a common language with peers, teachers and all villagers. He loved to travel. He took care of his sick younger brother. When he was doing his military service, he became interested in men's haircuts, learned and even wanted to open his own barbershop," his friend Diana said. The defender was buried with military honors in the local cemetery in his native Hordiyivka. Dmytro is survived by his mother, brothers, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.
