Ignatesco Dmytro Dmytrovych (callsign "Italian") was born on November 16, 1976, in the village of Beresta, Chernivtsi region. He was an ethnic Moldovan. His childhood and youth were spent in his native village. After finishing school, he studied at the Stavchany Technical School. Later, he served in the airborne troops in Bolgrad, Odesa region. After demobilization, he worked in law enforcement agencies for two years. When he turned 23, Dmytro moved to Italy, where he worked as a gardener for 18 years. After two years, he brought his family to Italy as well. He had his own apartment and a well-paid job in Italy. On February 24, 2022, Dmytro heard about the Russian invasion of Ukraine on Italian radio and immediately left for his homeland. He drove to Ukraine in his own car, a "Alfa Romeo," for 26 hours. Upon arriving at his family home, he went to the military recruitment office the next day without resting. He then underwent 2 weeks of training at one of the training grounds, and the unit of the 68th Separate Motorized Brigade, to which Dmytro was called up, was sent to defend the eastern borders.
