- Colonel Dmytro Burdyko was killed in action on July 14, 2022, during a Russian missile strike on the 60th Garrison Officers' House in Vinnytsia. Exactly a month before that, the officer turned 48 years old. Dmytro was born in Ayaguz, Kazakhstan, lived in Vinnytsia, and graduated from the Dnipropetrovsk Higher Anti-Aircraft Missile Command School of Air Defense. He was a career military serviceman who dedicated his life to serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the time of the full-scale Russian invasion, the officer was the head of the department of operation and repair of armament of anti-aircraft missile forces and deputy head of armament of the Logistics Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From the first day, he continued to perform his military duty and did everything for victory over the enemy. "A devoted man to his cause, fair, honest, brave warrior. A loving husband and father," his wife noted. The officer was buried at the Odynakivsky cemetery in Dnipro. Dmytro left behind his wife Valentyna, and sons Kostyantyn and Denys.
