Dmytro H. Zhovchak

Soldier Dmytro Zhovchak (call sign Kabasya) died on September 7, 2023, during the evacuation of wounded comrades in the area of the village of Mala Tokmachka, Zaporizhia region. The warrior was 31 years old. Dmytro was born in the city of Voznesensk, Mykolaiv region. He lived in Odesa. He graduated from the Odesa Professional Lyceum of Construction and Architecture. In civilian life, for 7 years he worked in the "SushiSet" delivery service. His last job was at the "Amsterdam" restaurant, where he was a cook. During the full-scale invasion, the man went to war as a volunteer. He served in the 80th separate air assault brigade. He held the position of a combat medic. He saved his comrades on the battlefield. "The best son. He could not remain on the sidelines when his friends are at war, in occupation. Therefore, he went voluntarily," said the mother of the fallen soldier, Yevheniia Kucher. The warrior was buried at the Western Cemetery in Odesa. At home, the hero was awaited by his mother. Dmytro Zhovchak was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, 3rd degree.
