Dmytro I. Babii (Ahronom)

Senior soldier Dmytro Babiy (call sign Agronom) was killed on September 1, 2022, while performing his official duties near the village of Bezimenne in the Kherson region. He sustained fatal injuries during an enemy airstrike. In November, the warrior would have turned 28 years old. Dmytro was born in the village of Yaryshivka in the Vinnytsia region. In 2015, he graduated from the Ternopil National Economic University with a degree in "Document Studies and Information Activities." Two years later, he earned a master's degree at the Vinnytsia Trade and Economic Institute in "Finance and Credit." After completing his studies, he was drafted for mandatory military service. During the full-scale war, in July 2022, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and took up the defense of his country against the occupiers. He served in the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after the ataman Kosty Hordiienko. He was a reconnaissance machine gunner. "My son was a bright child for us. He did not shy away from hard work. Dima was sincere, positive, brave, kind, decent, genuine, and hardworking," noted Olha Babiy. Dmytro was buried in his native village. At home, his parents and sister were waiting for him.
