- Dmytro Ivanovych Haran was born on December 11, 1985, in Ivano-Frankivsk. In 2003, he graduated from Ivano-Frankivsk General Education School No. 24 of I-III degrees. On May 6, 2022, Dmytro Haran was called up for mobilization to the ranks of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and assigned to the border unit of the 27th border detachment. On January 31, 2023, after undergoing appropriate training (medical, combat, tactical), Junior Sergeant Dmytro Haran was dispatched for further service in the Sumy region. During his military service, Dmytro proved himself to be a dedicated serviceman to the Ukrainian people, military duty, and the protection of Ukraine's state border. On February 17, 2023, while delivering a border patrol to the place of service, the vehicle carrying the patrol was fired upon from an anti-tank missile system from the territory of the Russian Federation while moving along a field road near the village of Myropillia in the Sumy region, close to the state border. Junior Sergeant Dmytro Haran, who was in the vehicle, sustained injuries incompatible with life. For personal courage and selfless actions displayed in defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as loyalty to military oath, Junior Sergeant Dmytro Ivanovych Haran was posthumously awarded the medal "Defender of the Fatherland."Memory Book of the MIA System
