- Captain Dmytro Rumyantsev was killed in action on March 20, 2022, during the defense of his military unit in the area of the village of Mykolaivka in the Kyiv region. The officer was 45 years old. Dmytro was born in the city of Bila Tserkva in the Kyiv region. He graduated from the Kyiv Institute of Ground Forces. He loved swimming. Since 2017, he had served under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. His comrades called him Ilyich. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Dmytro held the position of senior officer in unit A4180. From the first days of the great war, he defended Kyiv region from the invaders. "My angel was a very kind and sensitive person. In the unit, Dima was respected because he always treated his men like a father. When necessary - he would praise, and when necessary - he would scold. He was always willing to help. He was devoted to his work until the end. When the unit was surrounded, he supported his men and, already wounded, went into battle first with his friend," said the wife of the fallen defender, Lyubov. The officer was buried on the Alley of Glory in his native Bila Tserkva. Dmytro is survived by his wife and three children. Posthumously, Captain Dmytro Rumyantsev was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
