- Marine Dmitry Rzhanitsyn (call sign Kyiv) was killed on July 15, 2023, in the area of the village of Makarivka in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he received fatal injuries during an enemy mortar attack. The fighter was 34 years old. Dmitry was born in Germany in a military family. Later, he returned to Ukraine with his family. He lived in the village of Patyuty, Chernihiv region. He graduated from the Kyiv National Transport University with a degree in "Construction of bridges and airfields". After completing his studies, he remained living in the capital. He worked as a computer engineer at Farmagate LLC. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Dmitry was mobilized into the Ukrainian Navy. He served in the reconnaissance platoon of the 35th separate marine brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Ostrohradskyy. "He loved driving a car, took great care of his mother and son. He worked hard from a young age and earned everything with his own hands," said the deceased's wife Darya. "We knew Dmitry as a kind and cheerful colleague, an optimistic person. He showed resilience and courage to defend Ukraine. He gave his life for the future of each of us, for our independence and peace. This is a huge tragedy for all of us... And we will always remember his invaluable contribution to the struggle for freedom and our life! We must honor his memory, continue to work for the benefit of our country and highly appreciate the freedom protected by our Heroes at an incredibly high price of their own lives! Eternal memory and glory to the Hero!" - wrote the deceased's colleagues from Farmagate. The defender was buried in the village of Patyuty, Chernihiv region.
