Dmytro L. Zaiats

Sergeant Dmytro Zaiats was killed on July 29, 2023, in battle with the enemy near the village of Pishchane in the Kharkiv region. During the enemy air strike, the defender received fatal injuries. He was 41 years old. Dmytro was born in the city of Mostyska, Lviv region. He lived in the village of Volytsya. After completing secondary education, he graduated from the warrant officer school. Before the invasion, he worked in a security company. He devoted his free time to his family. His loved ones remember him as a very cheerful and sincere person who was always ready to help in any situation. With the start of the full-scale war, the man voluntarily went to defend his country. He joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 4th separate tank brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky. He was the commander of the headquarters section of the self-propelled artillery division battalion. "He was a very good and bright person. He was always happy to come to the rescue. He loved his country very much and at the beginning of the full-scale invasion went to defend it, but, unfortunately, his life was cut short by an enemy strike with guided air missiles. He told his three comrades to hide, but he did not have time to do so himself," said the godson of the deceased, Mykola Bednyi. The military was buried in the village of Hodyny, Lviv region. Dmytro is survived by his parents, sisters, wife, son, daughter, and other relatives, friends, and comrades-in-arms.
