Dmytro M. Belimenko (Islam-2)

49-year-old Senior Lieutenant Dmytro Belimenko (call sign Islam-2) was killed on December 4, 2022, in a battle with Russian invaders near the village of Bila Hora in the Donetsk region. He was killed by enemy artillery shelling. Dmytro was born in the settlement of Pisochin, Kharkiv region. He graduated from the Kharkiv Chemical and Mechanical College and the Kharkiv National University of Civil Engineering and Architecture. In civilian life, he worked at "Kharkivmiskgaz" and the roofing materials plant "Akvaizol". He was interested in boxing and enjoyed hunting. With the start of the full-scale war, the man joined the ranks of the defenders. He fought as part of the 113th separate brigade of territorial defense. He was the deputy commander of the company of the 120th battalion. He took the call sign Islam-2 in honor of his son Kostiantyn, whose call sign was Islam and who was killed during the defense of Mariupol in March 2022. "He was a very responsible person, you could rely on him in any situation. Caring, courageous and strong, he was the soul of the company. Dmytro was a man of his word and always kept his promises," his wife Oksana described the officer. Dmytro was buried in cemetery No. 5 in his native Pisochin. He is survived by his wife, daughter, mother and brother. The military man was posthumously awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, 3rd degree.
