Dmytro M. Ilchenko

Junior Sergeant Dmytro Ilchenko was killed on April 22, 2022, while performing a combat mission in the vicinity of the village of Kurulka in the Kharkiv region. Three days before, the fighter turned 28 years old. Dmytro was born in the village of Hryshkivtsi, Zhytomyr region. He stu at the local school. He received a welder's diploma at Berdychiv Professional and Technical School No. 4. After his term of service, he returned to his native village. During the full-scale invasion of Russian invaders, Dmytro was called up to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was the commander of a platoon of the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. "My husband when our daughter was only 8 months old. Now he is her guardian angel. Dmytro received his summons on April 6 and went to defend his homeland," the defender's wife Marina said. "For his parents, he will forever remain a son, whom they waited for from kindergarten, from school, from the army, from the war. For his wife, he is a beloved husband, whom she will forever keep in her heart. For his little daughter, he is a guardian angel. The merciless Russian enemy took a young life," the Gryshkivtsi community noted. The paratrooper was buried in the local cemetery in his native village. His parents, sister, wife, and daughter were waiting for the defender at home.
