Dmytro M. Konovalenko

44-year-old Sergeant Dmytro Konovalenko died on June 25, 2024 near the village of Vozdvyzhenka in the Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, he sustained fatal injuries as a result of being struck by an enemy FPV drone. Dmytro was born and lived in Zaporizhzhia. He obtained a secondary education. In civilian life, he worked as a sales representative. He was involved in sports and earned the title of Candidate Master of Sports in freestyle wrestling. He was passionate about traveling, loved books and animals. During the full-scale war, the man was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought in the ranks of the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after General-Lieutenant Marko Bezruchko. He held the position of commander of the sound ranging reconnaissance platoon's computing department. For his worthy service, he received the following awards: "Steel Cross", "Iron Cross", "Golden Cross", medals for the defense of Ukraine and Avdiivka. "Honest, kind, fair, responsible. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, he took up the defense of the Motherland. He was respected by everyone: friends, colleagues and comrades-in-arms. Until his death, he believed in our victory," his wife Yevheniia described the defender. The military man was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the Kapustianyi Cemetery in Zaporizhzhia. Dmytro is survived by his parents and wife.
