Dmytro M. Kovaliov

Sergeant Dmytro Kovalov was killed on February 4, 2023, during an enemy artillery attack near the village of Stepove in the Zaporizhzhia region. The warrior was 56 years old. Dmytro was a native of the city of Dobropillia in the Donetsk region. He lived in the city of Dnipro. He graduated from the Dnipropetrovsk State Mining Institute and obtained the qualification of electrical engineer. He worked at a private enterprise. In his free time, he loved to travel. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the man joined the ranks of the State Special Transport Service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and went to the front. He served in the 783rd Guard Brigade. "My brother was a good, decent and responsible person. On February 25, he received a summons and went to the military enlistment office. He did not run away and did not hide, but went honestly and worthily to fulfill his duty to the Motherland and his family. He served for almost a year. But it so happened that his unit, while carrying out the task, came under artillery fire... and he was killed," said the late's sister, Olena Zhmurenko. The defender was buried in the cemetery of the village of Diivka-2 in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Dmytro is survived by his parents, wife, son and sister.
