Dmytro M. Lakhno (Dimasyk)

37-year-old soldier Dmytro Lakhno (call sign Dimasyk) was killed on August 2, 2023 near the village of Staromaiorsʹke in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, the warrior received fatal injuries during an enemy artillery barrage. Dmytro was born in the village of Hannivka, Chernihiv region. He obtained a complete secondary education. He then studied at the Bobrovytsia College of Economics and Management named after O. Mainova. He worked in the agricultural sector. During the full-scale Russian invasion, in March 2022, the man was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 1st separate Siverian tank brigade. He held the position of a machine gun squad member. He participated in the defense of the Chernihiv and Donetsk regions. "Dmytro was a kind, sincere, hardworking, and extremely open-hearted person, he had many friends. He did not have his own family. He left behind his brother Oleksandr with his family, nephews, and godchildren. He loved them all. But he loved Ukraine the most and gave his life for it," the Nosivska community said. The military was buried in his native village. Dmytro is survived by his father, brother, sister, niece, other relatives, friends, and comrades-in-arms.
