Biography
Dmytro Mykolaiovych Nesteruk was born on January 26, 1997, in the village of Osivtsi, Kamin-Kashyrskyi district, Volyn region, in a military family. In 2014–2019, he studied at the Ivan Kozhedub Kharkiv National Air Force University. After graduating in 2019, he served in the 16th Separate Brigade of Army Aviation in Brody, Lviv region. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) and the Joint Forces Operation (JFO). He was awarded the "Participant of the ATO" badge. With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, Dmytro, together with the crew, carried out combat flights in the Kyiv region. He was killed on February 28, 2022, while performing a combat flight mission. A hostile missile hit the helicopter near the village of Makariv, Bucha district, Kyiv region. Contact with the crew was lost. Only after the liberation of the Kyiv region from the invader, the bodies of the helicopter crew, including Dmytro Nesteruk, were retrieved. He was buried in Brody, Lviv region.Burial place
