- Born on February 21, 1992, in the city of Sverdlovsk, Luhansk region. In 2007, he graduated from the 9th grade of a general education school in the urban-type settlement of Shakhtarsk (Sverdlovsk City Council), and in 2010, he graduated from the evening school in the city of Sverdlovsk. On April 29, 2011, he was drafted for military service by the Sverdlovsk Combined Military Commissariat of Luhansk region into the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine (since March 2014 - the National Guard of Ukraine). He served in the 15th separate regiment of the Eastern Territorial Command of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine (military unit 3035, city of Luhansk). On February 28, 2012, he was enrolled in military service under contract. He studied part-time at the Luhansk State University of Internal Affairs named after Eduard Didorenko. As of May 2014, he served as the deputy commander of the 1st rifle platoon - commander of the 1st section of the 1st rifle company (responsible for escorting, extradition, and guarding detainees) of the rifle battalion (responsible for escorting, extradition, guarding detainees, and protecting special warehouses) of the 15th separate regiment of the Eastern Operational-Territorial Association of the National Guard of Ukraine (military unit 3035, city of Luhansk). On May 28, 2014, during the seizure of the military town of military unit 3035 of the National Guard of Ukraine in the city of Luhansk by separatists, Sergeant Shelemin was part of the military detail for its protection. While in a firing position near the checkpoint, he held back the aggressive crowd. During the assault, he sustained shrapnel wounds to the head and chest. Sergeant Shelemin was taken to a hospital in Luhansk. For two days, doctors fought for his life, but the injuries were too severe. On May 30, 2014, Sergeant Shelemin died from his injuries. On May 31, 2014, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Kyselyove, Sverdlovsk City Council, Luhansk region. In the city of Kyiv, on Solomianska Square, on one of the slabs of the memorial to the fallen employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the name of Sergeant Dmytro Shelemin is engraved.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
